What the band has been up to recently
This has once again been a busy summer for the band.
In May, the band was chosen to be recorded by the BBC in Cardiff to take part in Radio 3's "Light Fantastic" event. The band was subsequently broadcast on the radio, playing "Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines".
June and July saw the band playing at one of their longstanding venues - Beeses Tea Gardens in Bristol on several Sunday afternoons. The band entertained the audiences which arrived by road and also by river aboard The Bristol Packet.
Also in July, the band played at The Marina in Portishead, during the judging session for "Portishead in Bloom" - somewhat predictably the pieces played here included "The Floral Dance" and "English Country Garden" amongst others!
At the beginning of September the band undertook a playing tour of 6 Butcombe pubs in Somerset in one afternoon! We visited the Ring of Bells in Hinton Blewitt, The Queen Victoria in Priddy, The Ring of Bells in Compton Martin, The Swan in Rowberrow, The Lamb in Axbridge and finally The Queen's Arms in Bleadon. It was a great fun event, with the playing improving as the day went on.
We have just played our last session for this year at Beeses Tea Gardens which was a great success as usual, and look forward to returning next year.

Christmas 2011 was typically busy for the band, playing firstly at their Christmas concert, at Hewish and Puxton Village Hall which was well attended and went down a storm. This was followed by numerous carolling sessions at pubs around Portishead, at the Woolpack in Weston and also at Waitrose in Portishead.
